I specialize in creating organizational advancement and advocacy programs on women’s and girls’ issues; advising women executives seeking to broaden their influence and raise their profile; and expanding major donor and decision maker engagement in public issues and causes.

I counsel leaders developing messages, programs and partnerships that make a positive difference for women, girls and their families. I have found that a lifetime of working in Chicago is good training for winning elsewhere, too.

I write and speak on women and politics, women’s reproductive rights and economic security, and the intersection of race and gender in American public life. My commentary is not Beltway-bound, but informed by the rough and tumble of Chicago politics, my political organizing expertise, and my experience advising women who seek public leadership roles.

My inspirational and how-to book for aspiring political women, EVERY DAY IS ELECTION DAY: A Woman's Guide to Winning the Office of Her Dreams with Joy, Humor, and Without Apology, will be published by Chicago Review Press in 2013.
